Life In A Holding Pattern

Flying is great! It renews perspective and clarifies vision. It’s nice to retreat for a moment in order to advance the vision! However… we're not meant to remain forever in the skies. The goal of flying is almost always to travel and eventually land somewhere in order to accomplish a goal. When we circle in the air longer than anticipated, it’s called a holding pattern. Holding patterns keep us temporarily and safely in the air until we find a good time and place to land. Then, the landing itself provides us an opportunity to restock, refuel, and reset before the next mission. (More on this in my next post.) So remember….

Life doesn’t remain in the air, just as we don't remain in retreat or perpetual vacation mode. Those are momentary states. We're meant to use our "airtime" for gathering inspiration, getting clarity, and expanding our vision.

Break the holding pattern! Find a good place to land. Bring your solutions, core values, and joy to the mix… on the ground where they're most needed.

  1. Do you presently find yourself in a holding pattern?

  2. Is there something keeping you from getting grounded? Or perhaps blocking you from bringing aerial view to your mission?

Let me know in the comments.
